Got some footage of them performing ‘It Don’t Stop’ & Magic (Be sure to check out our latest post prior to this one for performances by Eratic & Kinetik, and Feeray & Son of Though - located here)

The Refinery - Rusty & Mr. Kinetik did something real dope at the show. There’s a track on the Professor & the Hustler album called the Refinery..two versions exist of this track featuring a verse from each artist, but Rusty’s verse isn’t on the official CD, yet they performed both versions!

Jazz Kitchen - Came into town from Ohio on the first of July and...

Jazz Kitchen - Came into town from Ohio on the first of July and went straight to the Jazz Kitchen on College Avenue. First of all, I really like seeing hip-hop shows at the Jazz Kitchen. This venue emphasizes music first, it’s a positive atmosphere where serious music heads can chill and rock out. Secondly, I also like that it is non-smoking..no offense to the cigarette smokers, but the Jazz Kitchen is a great setting opposed to a smoke filled bar where it seems like you’re just at a bar with music on the side. The Jazz Kitchen is music!

Moreover, this particular show was special because I got to meet Rusty Redenbacher of Mudkids fame who is the quintessential face of Indianapolis Hip-Hop. Rusty and fellow Tornado Alley (a dope collective of artists, each with their own style and swag) emcee Mr. Kinetik had an official release party of their album ‘The Professor & The Hustler’ at the Jazz Kitchen, all presented to us by Sir Doug & Old Soul Entertainment.

I’ve been bumping the Prof & the Hustler all summer, but I’m the type of music listener who absolutely HAS to have an official hard copy press, especially if it is a classic piece..complete with the case, artwork ect.. (it will be the same thing with Alpha Live’s latest work ‘Soul Cinema’, that EP is too good not to be in official hard copy format) So I ended up copping a limited edition hard copy of the Prof. & the Hustler AND an A.T.F.U (All Together For Us, Alley the Fuck Up) Tee-shirt for 20 Bucks all together which is actually a steal.

Here’s a review of the Professor & the Hustler from Old Soul Entertainment - (Link)

The Performers - Had a good time seeing some local artists that I had never seen live prior to the show, most notably Whitney Coleman & Dwayne the Dork. Eratic & Mr. Kinetik ripped a track before Son of Thought & Feeray performed a remix to ‘What’s Good’. Son of Thought & Feeray bring lyrical heat & high energy to the stage..need to see more of them for sure. Alpha Live performed ‘Put Love’ from his recent hit EP ‘Soul Cinema’ followed by Rusty & Mr. Kinetik doing their thing by performing a good bit of the Professor and the Hustler.

Footage - Will start by posting Eratic & Mr. Kinetik and Son of Thought & Feeray (the next post will be footage from the Prof. & Hustler set) Footage isn’t the best, but ima get better (the dilemma, wanting to get hyped as a fan, but trying to film at the same time lol)

The Show took place at the Knights of Columbus joint on Keystone. Some local cats such as Ace one & Proforms, Merc Versus, Jaecyn Bayne, Freddie Bunz were there to fill the undercard. Everyrone was pretty good, Feeray of Tornado Alley was also in attendance to kick an ill acapella flow. It took a while for Del to show up, but it was well worth the wait. The crowd wasn’t the biggest, but being the pro MCs that they are, Del & Bukue One of Hiero performed with with ample energy to more than please the crowd. Got some partial footage of a cypher between Del & Bukue One, plus Del performing ‘Clint Eastwood’

The Spoken Word artist from New Jersey headlined a poetry set called the ‘Violet Project’..a campaign against Domestic Violence. This snippet from his set is called ‘American Sickness’, a few words on the political tip.
